Supply Chain Intern/Co-op — Job Description
As a Supply Chain Intern, you will support inventory planning, receiving, warehousing, procurement, logistics, and cross‑functional initiatives across multiple business units. This role provides hands‑on experience in supply chain operations, value stream mapping, process improvement, supply chain data analytics, and project‑based collaboration while working closely with supply chain, operations, engineering, IT, and other stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
· Assist in day‑to‑day supply chain activities including receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and shipping.
· Work with site and corporate supply chain leads to create and document Value Stream Maps (VSM) for receiving and related processes.
· Perform hands‑on process observations and detailed documentation of receiving workflows with warehouse teams.
· Analyze transaction processing, data entry requirements, and process differences across business units.
· Identify the seven Lean wastes and recommend short‑ and long‑term countermeasures and future‑state improvements.
· Support inventory planning, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
· Collect, analyze, and report supply chain and operational performance data; develop dashboards and visualizations to support decision‑making.
· Assist with ERP transaction analysis and interaction with inventory control systems.
· Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, IT and other stakeholders on project‑based initiatives and process implementations.
· Prepare reports, presentations, process maps, and improvement proposals for stakeholders.
· Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
Position Requirements:
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork abilities; comfortable working in project‑oriented, cross‑functional teams.
· Ability to perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment (stand, walk, bend, lift as required).
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced setting. · Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Characteristics:
· Familiarity with Lean principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
· Experience with value stream mapping, process mapping, or process improvement projects.
· Knowledge of inventory control systems, ERP systems, and purchasing workflows.
· Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and working with supply chain datasets.
· Prior experience working in warehousing, receiving, or manufacturing environments.
