Job Description

Rochester Regional Health offers internships for college/university level students interested in pursing a career in healthcare. This comprehensive program provides students with exposure and experiences covering a multitude of areas. Rotations over a period of 1 or 2 semesters, trimesters or quarters, dependent on college or university, are offered in various departments.

The Supply Chain Intern will support key operational and strategic initiatives across sourcing, procurement, contracting, and procure-to-pay (P2P) functions. This role provides hands-on experience in healthcare supply chain operations, data analysis, and process improvement while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.

LOCATION: Riedman Campus

DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain

SCHEDULE: M-F, 8-4:30

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with sourcing and procurement activities, including vendor research, pricing analysis, and contract support

  • Support data analysis and reporting (spend analytics, supplier performance, inventory trends)

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives across procure-to-pay workflows

  • Help maintain and update supplier records and documentation

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across supply chain, finance, accounts payable, and clinical departments

  • Support special projects (e.g., cost savings initiatives, standardization efforts, system optimization)

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required); experience with data tools preferred

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
