Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Project Management team, the incumbent will assist with operational and project-based activities that support UCLA Health’s supply chain functions. This includes exposure to supply chain management processes, practices, and technical applications, as well as participation in Workday ERP implementation. The position’s duties can include but are not limited to data validation, Lawson-to-Workday ETL processes, and item/par location setup. The intern will also contribute to training documentation and rollout efforts, organizational change management, and supporting the organization’s cost-reduction initiatives.

The intern will ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner, assist with research and reporting, and provide administrative and analytical support to the Supply Chain department as requested. Attendance at departmental meetings is expected to facilitate learning and enhance the intern’s overall experience.

The intern will participate in a variety of professional and learning experiences:

  • Projects scoped and identified by the Supply Chain department (serving in a variety of roles)
  • Workday implementation and related change management activities
  • Experiential learning, shadowing, and tours of distribution, perioperative, and receiving functions
  • Analyst team-based projects focused on process improvement and cost reduction

Beyond contributions to individual projects and collaboration with the preceptor, the intern will also contribute to UCLA Health’s culture and sense of community through active participation, engagement, and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.



Hourly rate: $17.90-47.00/hour


Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of related computer science or formal education
  • Minimum 2 years of related healthcare supply chain and operations or formal education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems (Workday, Lawson) and ability to learn technical applications quickly
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, validate information, and support ETL processes
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
  • Skill in working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to support process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Comfort with technology and handheld devices used in supply chain operations
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems, workflows, and best practices in supply chain management.
