
The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Equipment SME brings extensive experience across electrical and instrumentation equipment, with deep expertise in the full E&I discipline. This role partners with Engineering and Construction on pre-execution project strategy and supports Estimating and Scheduling through the planning and budget phases. The SME tracks and reports market trends and commodity conditions to enable timely procurement, applies the leverage procurement model, and establishes long-term agreements. Success requires strong command of contractual terms and conditions to reduce execution risk; the ability to build durable partnerships while negotiating effectively with contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers; and a drive to research and qualify new suppliers that meet all Tesla requirements. The SME also leads post-execution performance evaluations and reviews.
