A Brief Overview
The Category Director, Sourcing & Inventory is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement and inventory planning of Safelite’s auto glass products and related materials. This position integrates the functions of direct procurement and supply chain planning to ensure optimal supply chain performance. This leader will drive category-specific sourcing strategies, vendor partnerships, demand planning, and inventory replenishment across Safelite’s multi-echelon fulfillment network. The role is accountable for ensuring product availability, managing product lifecycle, and aligning supply with demand forecasts. The Director will lead a team of procurement and inventory professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with teams at Safelite and Belron.
What you will do
Lead strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management for Glass or Non-Glass category; including ongoing enhancement of supplier performance, leading RFP to optimize cost, revenue, and quality, and ensure alignment with global strategies
Develop and execute demand planning and inventory strategy to ensure supply, support business growth objectives, and consider operational constraints. Optimize supply purchasing parameters considering order minimums, lead time, forecast uncertainty, and seasonality
Lead high performing team across procurement and supply chain planning with focus on continuous improvement, customer service orientation, and proactive inventory availability
Establish, monitor, and improve KPIs and exception reports that are aligned with business goals, using analytics and trends to guide decision-making and improve operational outcomes
Provide support to field Store Operations and Fulfillment partners by resolving escalated supply issues and ensuring timely product availability to enable seamless service delivery
Implement processes, forecasting models, and planning system parameters to improve inventory accuracy and ensure part availability
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business administration, Procurement, Supply Chain management, or related field Required
Master's Degree in Business administration, Procurement, Supply Chain management, Finance, or related field preferred
Certification in Procurement or supply chain management preferred
Experience Qualifications
10+ years experience in Direct procurement, supply chain planning, buying, and/or inventory management Required
4-8 years Supervisory experience required
Experience in a global environment preferred
Skills and Abilities
Cultivate and sustain high-value supplier relationships, including strategic negotiation, complex RFPs, contracting, and performance management
Strong analytical abilities; interpreting large data sets for decision making & actions for continuous improvement
Inventory stocking strategy and parameter execution, forecasting and demand planning expertise
Coach, hire, and retain high-performing teams
ERP and supply chain planning systems experience across planning and procurement functions
Organizational and strategic time management skills
Interpersonal skills with internal & external stakeholder management; oral and written communication skills
Microsoft Office and data analysis tools proficiency
Experience with Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems
