Talent Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Defines Astrolab procurement strategy, objectives and guidelines in close collaboration with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Global Sourcing.

Active management of Astrolab supplier base:
  • Selects, manages, evaluates and develops the local supplier base in close alignment with Global Category strategies.
  • Optimizes our negotiation power (consolidated supplier portfolio, partnership approach vs. looking for new opportunities, identifying the benchmark, etc.).
  • Leads negotiations with key suppliers and set contracts or agreements (consignment stock, quantity contracts, GPAs) in adherence to prescribed purchasing standard to legally protect the company
  • Monitors supplier risks and their performance (delivery performance, quality level) to avoid supply constraints
  • Participates in supplier audits and meetings.

Reduce total cost of ownership
  • Targets the best total cost of ownership with supplier base (material cost, short lead times, streamlined logistics, delayed ownership, low inventory, limited liability, payment terms, etc.)
  • Promotes early involvement of key suppliers in projects.
  • Makes sure to be involved in the early stages of product design, CAPEX projects, larger customer biddings with 3rd party content and any other larger local indirect spend demands.
  • Maintains accurate purchasing data in ERP Monitors purchase price variances.
  • Monitors the Price Index on a monthly basis Monthly report on KPIs and projects to AL Operations Manager and Global Sourcing Management.

Manage and develop the Purchasing department
  • Manages & develops the procurement manager according to H+S company values and policies including job description, on the job training, training matrix, development plan and yearly appraisal.
  • Supervise the department objectives definition in accordance with pre-agreed corporate, Global Sourcing and AL objectives.
  • Ensures close collaboration with Global Sourcing Team.


Supply Chain Management:
  • Participates in S&OP meetings for A&D and T&M market segments.
  • Takes ownership over inventory management and demand planning.
  • Works closely with the finance team.


Manage and develop the production Planning & MDM team:
  • Plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the flow of production orders through supply chain to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Proper management of delivery date escalations, involve senior management if necessary.
  • Interacts with customers (internal and external) to communicate delivery schedules and early warning notifications.
  • Reviews production schedules and capacity situation with manufacturing department to ensure smooth and on time operation of the production process.
  • Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.
  • Responsible for all relevant planning master data in SAP/ERP.
  • Implements defined planning strategies.
  • Strongly supports data accuracy in all systems within the organization: BOMs and Master Data.



Logistics:
  • Ensures effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of inbound receiving, outbound shipping, warehousing and inventory management.
  • Identifies enhancement opportunities and implements solutions for improvement.
  • Resolves problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or imports /exports.
  • Develops and initiates monthly reports having required project timelines, corporate metrics and productivity measurements.


Analysis & Continuous Improvements:
  • Continuous improvement on supplier lead times.
  • Defines and implements purchasing strategy. Runs frequent inventory analysis (low runner vs high runner / ABC-XYZ) and adjusts planning master data accordingly to constantly maintain a high performance.
  • Responsible for various projects affecting the job holder’s area.



Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Coaches and mentors direct reports, colleagues, customers, visitors, etc.
  • Provides leadership and support according to the H+S leadership principles and follows the Code of Responsible Business Conduct Ensures employee assessments are completed timely, accurately, equitable and are legally compliant.
  • Conducts compliant professional interviews and documents within 24 hours supporting corporate employer branding goals.
  • Processes employee/contractor payroll by validating time and attendance timely and accurately with HR support as needed.
  • Recognizes employee workplace conflicts early and manages, involving HR for support and guidance.
  • Expert knowledge of all policies ensuring compliance among workplace addressing with HR for support as needed.
  • Directs organizational operations, projects, and services within the confines of the corporate values and holds others to the same standard.
  • Adheres to all regulations and guidelines contained in the Global Management System and ensures staff are informed and operating within the H+S guidelines.
  • All other relevant duties as assigned.


Talent Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering or supply chain preferred.


Experience:
  • 6-8 years of experience in supply chain optimization.
  • 3-4 years of supervisory experience preferred.


Skills/Knowledge:
  • Clear and effective communication written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP / Materials Management and Supply Chain Management).
  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management aspects and inventory management.
  • Strong experience in strategic and operational buying, especially in the area of negotiations with vendors and active supplier management.
  • Knowledge of Inventory management Intermediate knowledge in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced knowledge of Change Management (Communication, Strategic thinking, Analysis)
  • Attention to detail and capable of handling multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Solid leadership experience and skills.
