Job Description

The SC Data Analyst I is responsible for executing data management processes and developing foundational supply chain analytics skills. This role maintains the accuracy and integrity of item master and supplier data in Prophet 21 (P21) while building proficiency in reporting, replenishment analysis, and Power BI. The Analyst I operates within defined processes and work instructions, develops mastery of core systems, and works toward independent execution of analytics and EIM responsibilities under supervision.

Data Management Execution

  • Maintains and updates Item Master records in P21 including pricing, cost, lead times, unit of measure, model codes, and obsolescence status.
  • Processes supplier communications for impact to item data — including price changes, cost updates, discounts, lead time changes, and part number revisions — following defined work instructions.
  • Executes data management activities in accordance with established processes, checklists, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Identifies and escalates data errors or process gaps to the supervising Analyst or Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Maintains centralized supplier information and ensure records are current and accessible.

Analytics & Reporting Development

  • Develops proficiency in P21 reporting and data extraction to support purchasing and replenishment decisions.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Completes ad-hoc data pulls and analysis in support of key initiatives as directed.
  • Learns and applies supply chain concepts related to inventory replenishment, supplier performance, and item stratification.

EIM Program Support

  • Supports EIM (Evolution Inventory Management) reviews by preparing data sets, pulling reports, and ensuring data accuracy prior to review sessions.
  • Participates in EIM reviews under supervision, developing familiarity with the review process, customer requirements, and replenishment decision-making.
  • Captures and processes replenishment updates resulting from EIM review sessions accurately and timely.

Requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicates data changes and their business impact to Buyers and internal stakeholders clearly and accurately.
  • Partners with SC Analyst II and Senior Analyst to support ongoing analytics and reporting initiatives.
  • Other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-2 years of experience in supply chain, data management, or analytics in a B2B environment, or equivalent coursework and co-op experience.
  • Exposure to ERP or MRP systems preferred; Prophet 21 (P21) experience a plus.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI exposure or willingness to develop proficiency quickly.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and work instructions consistently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn supply chain concepts and develop analytical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is sedentary, requiring an extended period of sitting or standing to perform the work. There may be some infrequent movement from area-to-area to transport items weighing no more than 15 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.
