Supply Chain Compliance & Contract Specialist – China Hub

The Barrick China Hub Team are seeking to recruit a Supply Chain Compliance & Contract Specialist This role will be located in Shanghai, China, reporting to the China Lead Procurement Manager.

This role serves as the independent compliance and contract governance role for the China Sourcing Hub. The role will own end-to-end contract lifecycle management, full-process sourcing compliance audit, document control, and support Control Tower with supplier onboarding and risk assessment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage full contract lifecycle: draft procurement contracts, frame agreements, NDAs and commercial annexes aligned with Barrick global standards; coordinate review with legal/Control Tower; support final contract execution with suppliers.
  • Conduct compliance review for all sourcing process documents: supplier pre-qualification records, RFQs, quotations, comparison sheets, recommendation reports and contracts, to ensure alignment with Barrick Procurement Policy, Anti-Bribery Policy and tender rules.
  • Own centralized, classified archiving of all sourcing project documents, ensuring 100% traceability and audit readiness for internal/external audits.
  • Support AME Control Tower with end-to-end supplier onboarding processes: collect compliance documentation, conduct sanction screening, anti-bribery due diligence, ESG risk assessment and maintain approved vendor records.
  • Monitor sourcing process compliance, identify procedural gaps or irregularities, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain and update standard China sourcing document templates, aligned with global Barrick standards.
  • Support annual audit preparation, organize audit evidence and track closure of audit non-conformities.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement compliance, contract management or internal control roles, experience in mining or multinational heavy industry preferred.
  • Familiar with international procurement contract structures, anti-bribery compliance requirements, ESG supplier management and audit processes.
  • Good understanding of cross-border trade compliance and international sourcing processes.
  • Proficient English for contract review, policy interpretation and global stakeholder communication.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong risk identification capability.
  • Strong risk awareness and principle-based decision making.
  • Excellent contract drafting and legal clause comprehension skills.
  • Rigorous process management and document control capability.
  • High integrity and zero tolerance for non-compliant behavior.
  • Independent judgment and ability to escalate risk appropriately.
