Supply Chain Commercial Specialist – China Hub

The Barrick China Hub Team are seeking to recruit a Supply Chain Commercial Specialist This role will be located in Shanghai, China, reporting to the China Lead Procurement Manager.

This role serves as the internal commercial operations and data hub for the China Sourcing team. The role will own centralized quotation management, like-for-like comparison reporting, commercial data management, and end-to-end order/contract execution tracking to ensure suppliers deliver per approved terms.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the dedicated shared quotation inbox, and be the single recipient for all supplier quotations, and log and timestamp all submissions to ensure tender fairness.
• Prepare standardized like-for-like commercial comparison reports for all sourcing events, normalizing pricing, terms, and lead time data to support Buyer negotiations and recommendations.
• Collect, organize, and maintain all commercial data, pricing records, supplier information, and sourcing project files in the central repository.
• Track execution of approved contracts and purchase orders, monitor supplier production progress, delivery schedules, and quality conformance against contract terms.
• Follow up with suppliers to resolve routine delivery delays, documentation gaps, and quantity/quality discrepancies, escalate major issues to the relevant Category Buyer.
• Support preparation of regular commercial performance reports, OTIF statistics and cost tracking data for management review.
• Coordinate with forwarders and suppliers for routine shipment booking and document preparation support.
• Maintain complete, traceable commercial records for all sourcing projects to support audit requirements.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics or a related field.

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining procurement or commercial execution roles, with proven track record supporting cross-border sourcing to overseas projects.
• Familiar with international trade processes, export documentation, and mining supply chain operational requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills for data sorting, comparison modeling, and report preparation.
• Good written and spoken English for commercial correspondence and document review.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong multi-tasking capability.
• High accuracy and attention to detail for data and document management.
• Strong execution and follow-up capability.
• Standardized process awareness and rigorous record-keeping habits.
• Commercial acumen to identify abnormal pricing or terms.
• High integrity and strict compliance with tender confidentiality rules.
