Job Description

What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations are responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Work Group Mailbox to document in-coming PO confirmation
  • Reach out to Suppliers that do not provide confirmations
  • Work Past Due PO lines and updated ETA/ Tracking information
  • Assist with Back Order Follow up for Root Cause and get- well information
  • Manage discrepancies with Planner; pricing, UOM.
  • Work with receiving plants on Receiving Discrepancies
  • Using tools to prioritize work and document actions
  • Manage all Purchase orders placed through SAP/ ECC as Stock Transport Orders.
  • Verifying DN drops and Goods Issued.
  • Assist Planner / Buyer with Component status updates
  • Work with Distribution planners to obtain back-order ETA and track shipments
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, update coverage/ scheduling matrix, and provide training for New B1 PA’s as needed.
  • Provide Back Up support when a Planner / Buyer is absent

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience, preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Good Customer Service Experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills: written and verbal
  • Good Problem Solving / Decision making Skills
  • Experience with computer systems

Anticipated hourly range: $15.00 - $21.67 per hour based on experience
