Supply Chain Associate Internship – Electrical Team

This Supply Chain Internship supports supply chain teams with day‑to‑day project procurement activities, including the sourcing of goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and other project‑related materials. Interns gain hands‑on experience across the procurement lifecycle, including issuing Requests for Quotes (RFQs), preparing Purchase Orders, monitoring vendor performance, and maintaining supplier relationships. Working closely with experienced supply chain professionals, the intern will contribute to ensuring on‑time delivery of materials and equipment that meet project schedule, quality, quantity, and cost objectives, while developing a foundational understanding of supply chain operations within an active project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Develop and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs) for Auxiliary and Balance of Plant (BOP) procurements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to establish and maintain a qualified supplier base.
  • Review and analyze global sourcing data to support business growth and strategic direction.
  • Evaluate bid proposals and negotiate contracts within approved budget limits and delegated authority.
  • Manage supplier contracts, ensuring full compliance with contractual terms and requirements.
  • Address quality and performance issues by coordinating corrective actions with quality, inspection, users, and vendors.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews focused on quality, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and manage long‑term supplier agreements to support strategic sourcing objectives.
  • Support major procurement initiatives, including capital equipment sourcing and new project execution.
  • Resolve BOP and procurement‑related issues as they arise to support project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase details, costs, delivery performance, and quality metrics.
  • Provide procurement support to leadership to help achieve corporate goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field at a four‑year university.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with interest in using data and presentations to support business decisions.
  • Demonstrated interest in supply chain, procurement, or operations, with a desire to learn end‑to‑end sourcing and vendor management processes.
  • Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify trends, and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present information clearly to team members.
