Supply Chain Analyst, Transportation & Logistics - Decatur, IL

MAIN FUNCTION:

Reporting to the General Manager, North America Transportation & Supply Chain (TSC). This position combines responsibility for trucking execution, inventory monitoring, carrier performance, and supply chain optimization across refined oils, crude oils, and by-products. The role serves as a key liaison between Transportation & Supply Chain, production facilities, commercial teams, carriers, and logistics partners to maximize asset utilization, minimize demurrage, and improve service performance.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Understanding of rail pipelines and inventories at refinery/crude locations and customers to minimize demurrage and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate truck scheduling, day-to-day trucking execution requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with ADM Trucking, Truck Traffic, operating plants, carriers, and customers to resolve recurring logistics issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain carrier scorecards and participate in freight negotiations and carrier performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of fleets required to move refined oils, crude oils, and by-products between processing facilities, customers, transfer stations, and export terminals.
  • Develop communication processes with commercial, crude oils, by-products, and sales teams to align transportation resources with business needs.
  • Analyze freight spreads, transportation economics, production forecasts, and market conditions to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Understanding of fleet requirements through analysis of production estimates, turn times, storage capacities, and customer demand.
  • Monitor inventories, production rates, refinery requirements, and shipment execution to anticipate storage constraints and maintain supply continuity.
  • Monitor supply planning tools incorporating crush rates, refining rates, yields, downtime assumptions, storage capacities, and movement forecasts.
  • Manage trucking claims and support continuous improvement initiatives across transportation and supply chain operations.
  • Conduct site visits to processing locations and transfer facilities to strengthen partnerships and identify operational improvements.
  • Cross-train and collaborate across transportation, planning, and logistics functions to enhance organizational capability.
  • Maintain WAVE initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • University degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in commodity merchandising, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-risk environment and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of railcar management systems and transportation planning tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $128,400.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
