UGL Defence has been awarded the Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance contract for the Defence Fuels Network (DFN)—a critical national infrastructure supporting Australia’s Defence capability.
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Advisor to join our team supporting Australia’s Defence fuel infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to work within a high-profile Defence environment, contributing directly to the operational readiness and national security of Australia.
Reporting to the Strategic Planning Manager, the Supply Chain Advisor is tasked with executing the Strategic Inventory Management Services (SIMS) on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for providing strategic analysis of the DFSC in order to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), cost of fuel and improve supply chain resilience.
Key responsibilities
Act as single point of responsibility for strategic DFSC planning and analytics, with a focus on:
Qualitatively and quantitatively analysis the DFSC to identify risk and opportunities to Defence supply security.
Managing the DFSC Fuels Risk Register and Opportunities Register.
Maintaining and calculating inventory stock targets across the Defence Fuel Network (DFN).
Supporting the progression of Strategic Demand Forecasting over a long-term basis.
Improving operations demand planning tools used within Defence.
Coordination of long-term Asset Outage planning.
Support FSB in their carbon assessments across the DFSC and provide strategic advice on future fuels and options to reduce GHG emissions.
Ensure compliance to all Commonwealth policies and procedures.
Provide leave cover for Supply Planners, as required.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualification Engineering, Business/Commerce or related industry experience.
5+ years proven experience in fuel supply chain operations and logistics in Australia or Asia–Pacific.
Supply, Scheduling or Trading experience.
Knowledge of fuel supply and demand mass balance in Australia, awareness of global supply and demand flows.
Experienced in quality demand forecasting and management of fuel, as well as in managing working capital.
Understanding of product quality specifications and assurance procedures.
