Job Description

The Supply Assurance Buyer III supports the Supply Assurance Manager in organizing and executing activities related to material availability, serving as a key contributor in cross-functional discussions on supply planning and inventory strategy. This role monitors the production build plan to optimize inventory holding levels while proactively managing and minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. The Buyer III ensures new purchase orders and product transfer plans are executed accurately and on schedule to maintain uninterrupted material supply, applying sound judgment and procurement expertise given the seniority of the role. This position also champions data integrity and drives ongoing improvements to systems, processes, and procedures within the supply chain function. Additionally, the Buyer III is accountable for the timely and accurate execution and maintenance of key performance indicators—including past due POs/PRs, unconfirmed POs, and aging quality notifications—within SAP, contributing to overall supply chain performance and reliability.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Review and analyze materials requirements for production, generate Purchase Orders, scheduling and re-scheduling materials based on MRP requirement to ensure continuity of supplies to the manufacturing plant
  • Manage supplier relationships to optimize supply chain efficiency. Identifies and resolves potential supply problems as necessary.
  • Manage inventory/stock levels to support production, LTB, E & O as well as meeting inventory goals set
  • Develop and implement improvement programs for the low performing suppliers.
  • Drive system and process enhancement and upkeep data integrity and accuracy. Actively manage workflow in SAP system and works with appropriate parties to resolve system issues as well as invoice issues to minimize overdue invoices and ensure supply availability.
  • Review and resolve NCRs and works to identify programs which will lead to reduction of supplier related NCRs.
  • Participate in supplier audits and publishes audit reports
  • Manage, track and implement purchasing spec changes and initiate document change order forms
  • Participate and represent purchasing in teams related to new product development and product transfer activities
  • Maintain and ensure systems and processes are in compliance to SOX, ISO9001, ISO140001, ISO13485 and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist Supply Assurance Manager in driving all department initiatives
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

  • Degree / Diploma in any Engineering/Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline.
  • 5 – 8 years of purchasing management exposure in multi-industry manufacturing or related.
  • Good supervision and people management skills.
  • Good understanding of ERP/MRP concept and SAP experience.
  • Outstanding in interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good experience in Purchasing Management
