Idaho Power, located in the vibrant community of Boise, Idaho, is seeking both a motivated Supplier Relationship Lead and a Category Management Lead to join our Supply Chain Procurement team. What does a Supplier Relationship Lead do for us?

This individual will develop, lead, and execute supplier relationship programs and processes to support Idaho Power's procurement objectives. Implement and maintain supplier development practices, including supplier performance management and score carding. Develop strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers to assure enterprise-wide cost, quality, risk, and service targets are met. Help implement strategic activities for the entire Procurement operation, including the contracting, purchasing and supplier relationship teams.

What does a Category Management Lead do for us?

This individual will develop, lead, and execute supply strategies to support Idaho Power's procurement objectives. They are responsible for source development, negotiations, contracts, and supplier management for assigned materials and services. They will develop strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers to assure enterprise-wide cost, quality, risk, and service targets are met. They also help implement strategic activities for the entire Procurement operation, including the contracting, purchasing and supplier relationship teams.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • Procurement strategies and principles for a wide range of goods and services categories
  • Market research, cost estimates, forecasts, and sourcing strategies
  • Negotiating supplier agreements, including cost, service, quality, and terms of supply
  • Identifying supplier opportunities and collaborating across Procurement to pursue them
  • Risk assessment and mitigation techniques consistent with industry standards and regulations
  • Supplier relationship management and strong partnership practices

Preferred:

  • Supply chain methodologies, strategic sourcing techniques, and utility industry commodities

Supplier Relationship Lead:

  • Supplier performance management and scorecarding methodologies

Category Management Lead:

  • Category strategy development, scenario analysis, and contract operationalization

Supplier Relationship Lead: Supplier relationship best practices

Skills in:

  • Business process, time management, decision-making, critical thinking, analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Presentation and facilitation skills to work with cross-functional groups in establishing and achieving common goals
  • Broad business acumen with the ability to translate abstract ideas into clear business messages
  • Managing and coordinating multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Building and maintaining strong strategic supplier relationships

Category Management Lead:

  • Data analytics and advanced understanding of key contract terms
  • Leading complex projects, programs, and sourcing activities

Preferred:

  • Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to senior management
  • Courage and willingness to constructively challenge the status quo, critical and creative thinking, change management, and strong analytics and root cause analysis

Supplier Relationship Lead:

  • Demonstrated success supporting supplier projects, programs, and managing supplier performance

Ability to:

  • Manage and contribute effectively on project teams or independently
  • Coordinate and review the work of others
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and demonstrate strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills
  • Adapt to changing priorities to ensure timely completion of work
  • Gather information, identify linkages and trends, apply findings, and develop alternatives
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining composure under pressure and meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Ask difficult questions and solve complex problems
  • Apply strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Earn the trust of key stakeholders to drive alignment with the business

Preferred:

  • Provide training, mentor procurement team members, and influence effectively at all levels

Supplier Relationship Lead:

  • Network and build relationships with a diverse set of suppliers and successfully manage supplier relationships


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Supplier Relationship Lead:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field

Experience:

  • 7 years related work experience including 5 years recent experience in corporate operations, procurement or contracting fields

Preferred:

  • 3 years of project management or other demonstrated leadership experience
  • 3 years of demonstrated success supporting supplier relationships
  • 5 years of recent experience in corporate operations, procurement or contracting fields

Category Management Lead:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in business, supply chain, or related field

Experience:

  • 7 years related work experience including 5 years recent experience in corporate operations, procurement or contracting fields

Preferred:

  • 3 years of project management or other demonstrated leadership experience
  • 3 years of demonstrated success leading complex contract strategies in the utility Industry
  • 5 years of recent experience in category management in the utility Industry


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
