About the role:
We are looking for a Supplier Quality + Sourcing Lead based in Shenzhen / Hong Kong to manage suppliers, samples, BOMs, quality control, factory communication, component alternatives, and early manufacturing readiness.
This is a hands-on sourcing and quality role, not a generic procurement role. We need someone who understands electronics, hardware prototyping, supplier qualification, manufacturing realities, quality risks, and startup-speed execution.
Responsibilities:
Source suppliers for edge hardware, screens, sensors, enclosures, wiring, PCBs, connectivity modules, and related hardware components.
Identify and qualify reliable suppliers in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and the Greater Bay Area.
Manage samples, quotations, lead times, MOQ discussions, supplier comparisons, and component alternatives.
Support BOM creation, cost-down, and DFM feedback.
Visit factories and suppliers when needed.
Coordinate communication between suppliers and engineering teams.
Set up basic quality control processes for prototypes and early production runs.
Identify counterfeit, reliability, certification, and supply-chain risks.
Support packaging, shipping, logistics, inspection, and spare-parts planning.
Requirements:
Experience in supplier sourcing, supplier quality, electronics manufacturing, hardware operations, manufacturing QA, or supply chain management.
Direct experience with electronics, PCBA, edge devices, screens, sensors, enclosures, wiring, industrial components, or hardware assemblies.
Strong supplier network or sourcing ability in Shenzhen / Hong Kong / Greater Bay Area.
Mandarin Chinese fluency required.
Professional English required.
Ability to inspect samples, compare suppliers, understand technical requirements, and communicate risks.
High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Must Haves:
Experience with vending machines, kiosks, payment terminals, POS hardware, retail automation, IoT devices, robotics hardware, or industrial electronics.
Experience with DFM, EVT/DVT/PVT, factory audits, QC plans, inspection checklists, or production ramp.
Experience sourcing for startups or early hardware products.
Experience with international shipping, export, documentation, and logistics.
Success in the first 90 days:
You identify and qualify the first shortlist of hardware suppliers.
You help create a practical BOM for demo and pilot hardware.
You secure samples, quotes, lead times, and supplier comparisons.
You identify quality and supply-chain risks early.
Success in the first 6-12 months:
The company has reliable suppliers for key hardware components.
The company can build demo units and pilot kits with predictable cost, quality, and lead times.
You become the key owner of sourcing, supplier quality, and early manufacturing readiness.
