Job Description

Vertiv is looking for a Supplier Quality Management Senior Engineer. This position will be responsible for welding engineering activities, steelworks fabrication supervision, supplier quality management, fabrication support, and quality assurance within industrial manufacturing and project environments. The role supports product development, industrialization, supplier qualification, and serial production activities by ensuring compliance with welding standards, technical specifications, fabrication requirements, and customer expectations, including monitoring and control of steelworks manufacturing activities throughout all production phases.

The position includes quality control and quality management activities across various projects, manufacturing processes, and technical solutions, including the application of standards, documentation review, and verification of execution throughout all project phases, including planning, management, and control of welding processes in accordance with HRN EN ISO 3834-2 and HRN EN 1090-2 standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, and approve welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQR) according to applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Support welding and fabrication activities during NPDI, industrialization, and serial production phases.
  • Ensure compliance with welding quality requirements, codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate welder qualification activities and maintain welding qualification records.
  • Provide technical support regarding welding technologies, materials, fabrication, and heat treatment processes.
  • Review technical drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
  • Support supplier qualification, supplier audits, and supplier welding capability assessments.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to welding and fabrication non-conformities.
  • Coordinate and support NDT activities including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT inspections.
  • Monitor welding performance, process stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Project Management teams regarding welding-related topics.
  • Participate in inspections, workshops, technical meetings, and customer/supplier audits
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements during welding and fabrication operations.
  • Support implementation and improvement of welding procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering , or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in welding engineering, fabrication, and industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of welding technologies, welding processes, and fabrication methods.
  • Knowledge of international welding standards and pressure equipment regulations.
  • Experience with WPS, PQR, WPQR documentation, and welder qualifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication, pressure equipment, piping, or structural welding applications.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and welding inspection activities.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with steel construction, pressure vessels, piping systems, compressors, and heat exchangers.
  • Knowledge of EN, ASME, ISO, PED, and AWS standards.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and supplier development activities.
  • Understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and heat treatment processes.
  • NDT certifications (VT/PT/MT/UT) are considered a plus.
  • Experience working in international project environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
