Our Lons-le-Saunier site (350 employees) manufactures complex mechanical and composite components that perform vital functions on aircraft and helicopters. We work with some of the world’s leading aerospace companies, including Airbus, Airbus Helicopters, Dassault, Boeing, Leonardo, and Safran

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will be responsible for supplier quality activities. You will have the authority to block delivery whenever product integrity is at risk and to release it once all measures are necessary to ensure product integrity have been implemented.

By joining us in this role, you will work in an international environment involving suppliers, sales teams, project teams, and customers, within a low- to medium-volume manufacturing setting. You will face a wide variety of technical and product-related challenges (nearly 9,000 product references on site) and play a key role in problem-solving at the interface between suppliers and the manufacturing site.

Your Day-to-Day Activities

  • Act as the primary supplier interface for managing supplier complaints and returns, from case registration through to final resolution.
  • Prepare summaries of complaints and associated action plans and communicate them during monthly or bi-monthly reviews.
  • Conduct 8D investigations and major corrective action plans resulting from supplier complaints, ensuring effective communication and coordination with suppliers.
  • Qualify new suppliers (audits, qualification files, action follow-up, etc.), either on their own or in support of the Special Processes team and maintain the qualification status of current suppliers in accordance with SKF requirements.
  • Analyze defects and related activities to identify lessons learned and define long-term improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by proposing and implementing actions to increase the effectiveness of supplier quality activities, leveraging feedback and lessons learned.
  • Monitor supplier quality KPIs and associated costs and ensure effective internal reporting and communication.

Your Background and Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least one relevant professional experience in an industrial environment within a quality, continuous improvement, or project-related role.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, materials, or surface treatment environment.
  • Solid knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and quality tools such as 8D, DMAIC, Six Sigma, and 5 Whys
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, as regular communication with suppliers and internal teams is required.

You Will Thrive with Us If...

  • You are a practical professional. We are looking for someone who is motivated, pragmatic, and has a team spirit, capable of bringing people together around quality objectives and leading problem-solving initiatives.
  • You are motivated by highly technical mechanical and composite products. Our capability in designing and manufacturing safety-critical components for aircraft and helicopters is respected by the industry's leading companies.
  • You are looking for a human-sized organization where your ideas are valued, and where you can contribute your knowledge, experience, and improvement initiatives.
