Job Summary:

Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer. The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that external suppliers deliver components, materials, and assemblies that meet quality, safety, and performance standards. This role will cover raw material, fabrication and metal manufacturing products and focus on supplier selection and approval, audits, re-evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and root-cause corrective actions.

Job Duties:

  • Selection, evaluation, approval and ongoing performance evaluation of suppliers.
  • Conduct QMS and technical supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality management systems and applicable industry standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities for supplier-related nonconformances.
  • Review and disposition non-conforming materials received from suppliers.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation, inspection plans, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support incoming inspection activities and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Review and approve supplier-requested changes to processes, materials, or tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering and sourcing teams during new product introductions and supplier selection.
  • Track supplier quality metrics and drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in supplier development initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and reliability.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3 years in supplier quality.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and root cause investigations.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measurement/testing equipment.
  • Experience with ISO-9001 quality management systems (QMS).
  • Computer literate and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required.
