The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing supplier-related quality activities to ensure that purchased materials and components comply with applicable specifications and quality system requirements. This role monitors and evaluates supplier quality performance, coordinates containment and resolution of supplier nonconformities, supports supplier development, and promotes continuous improvement to prevent recurrence of quality issues. The position also collaborates with internal teams such as Finance, Incoming Inspection, and the Supplier Quality organization to support material disposition, returns, and supplier recovery activities.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Monitor Supplier Quality inventory, including MRB, RTV, and Incoming Inspection material, and analyze transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Evaluate new suppliers and new parts through PPAP submissions and supplier audits.
  • Coordinate sample shipments and the return of nonconforming material to suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Finance to process supplier credit note adjustments.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance metrics, including Supplier Parts Per Million, or SPPM.
  • Follow up on supplier nonconformities and ensure that appropriate containment and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support supplier development initiatives and conduct supplier quality audits.
  • Lead and coordinate supplier-related activities focused on problem containment, resolution, recurrence prevention, and continuous improvement.
  • Determine whether incoming material is nonconforming and place affected raw material on quarantine when required.

Basic Qualifications.

Education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Conversational English proficiency.

Experience.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a Quality Engineer role or a related quality function.
  • Ability to interpret component specifications and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and supplier nonconformance management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Control Plans and their application within manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, or PFMEA.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Experience using the 8D problem-solving methodology.
  • Experience reviewing or preparing Production Part Approval Process, or PPAP, documentation.
  • Experience conducting supplier evaluations, development activities, and quality audits.
  • Experience applying continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience monitoring supplier quality metrics, including SPPM.
  • Experience managing MRB, RTV, Incoming Inspection, supplier returns, and nonconforming material.
  • Strong problem-solving, follow-up, organization, and cross-functional communication skills.
