The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for planning, coordinating and performing Supplier Quality activities.

Supplier quality engineers are manufacturing, supply chain, and quality specialists who play a central role in assessing supplier quality and ensuring that products received are free of defects and at the best purchasing conditions and. Supplier quality engineers communicate between senior management and suppliers to address and resolve quality issues, providing technical input and guidance on process enhancements and improvement. He/She spends a significant amount of time visiting supplier facilities to assess their practices and procedures and identify areas for improvement.

SQE will be part of the Supplier Base Development team supporting the Scouting process through research of new suppliers and sustaining NPI in the introduction of new products.

Responsabilità essenziali

• To develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Supplier Quality Management process to ensure excellent quality at competitive cost of purchased materials, components and/or services. Globalize SQE strategy and processes in association with all ITT sites
• To Monitor Supplier Quality Performances evaluating historical KPI to identify opportunities for development and coordinate the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives at suppliers/contract manufacturers.
• To facilitate the deployment of corrective and preventive actions in response to internal quality issues as well as customer complaints through the coordination of cross-functional teams.
• To support scouting process through the research and screening of global market for competitive and technically capable suppliers and propose them for homologation with the aim of optimizing the supplier panel.
• To perform supplier audits. These visits may occur as part of the supplier homologation process, or after the company has established a relationship with a vendor. SQE critically analyzes processes and technical design promoting cost reduction opportunities.
• To facilitate and define procedures and techniques for incoming inspection leading and coordinating all ITT Incoming Inspection Teams.
• To work as liaisons between organizations’ senior management and vendors. In this aspect of the role, the supplier quality engineer may meet with both parties to identify issues in supply quality and work towards a solution.
• To perform suppliers’ Survey for EURO 7 and standards/regulations implementation

Requisiti di posizione

Years of Experience in the position: 3+ years of experience

Qualification / Requirements:

• Demonstrated excellence in the Quality field including Supplier Quality Engineering in a development & manufacturing environment, preferably with Automotive OEM/Tier-1 suppliers or companies operating under the IATF-16949 quality management system framework.
• Experience with Supplier Management methodologies is a must, including approval/qualification of new suppliers/parts through the use of weighted selection criteria and PPAP (Production Parts Approval Plan)
• Working knowledge of ISO9001/IATF framework, including associated requirements, such as: Design and Process FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plan
• VDA 6.3 certification
• Proficient in Quality processes and problem solving techniques/tools (SCAR, Global 8D, DMAIC)
• Expert in descriptive/inferential statistics and statistical tools (capability studies, GD&T, Gage R&R, Statistical Process Control - SPC, Design of Experiments - DOE)
• Familiarity with suppliers audit
• Proficiency in suppliers development
• Experience operating in a Lean manufacturing environment and associated techniques/tools (cell manufacturing, standard work, 5S)
• Presentation and project management skills
• Excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal) and proactivity
• People and leadership skills to interface with multiple internal functions and external parties (suppliers, contract manufacturers)
• Availability to domestic and international travel (50-70%)
• Fluent English
