Due to growth in the business, we are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure suppliers consistently meet quality, compliance, and performance standards to support reliable product delivery. This newly created role leads supplier qualification, development, and performance management while establishing and maintaining quality control plans, conducting audits and self-assessments, and driving root cause analysis for defect resolution.
This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Service & Suppliers to ensure quality, compliance and operational performance expectations are consistently achieved.
Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, development, and ongoing supplier performance management.
Develop and maintain Supplier Quality Control Plans including manufacturing controls, inspection criteria, testing requirements, and acceptance standards.
Plan and conduct supplier audits, supplier self-assessments, and compliance reviews against ISO standards and Eaton requirements.
Lead root cause analysis and field failure investigations using structured methodologies including 8D, FMEA, RCA, and CAPA.
Support containment, corrective actions, and supplier resolution activities for product and quality issues.
Establish and oversee incoming inspection and source quality verification processes, including management of non-conforming materials.
Support supplier readiness for New Product Introduction through APQP activities, PPAP review and approval, and process capability verification.
Maintain supplier quality documentation, specifications, records, procedures, and compliance certificates with appropriate document control.
Evaluate supplier-related warranty claims, perform trend analysis, and support supplier accountability and cost recovery activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier base using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Monitor supplier KPIs and participate in supplier business reviews to support ongoing quality and operational improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
5+ years’ experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Engineering roles.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems and supplier quality processes.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, incoming inspection, defect analysis, SPC, MSA, and control plans.
Strong working knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, RCA, FMEA, and CAPA.
Experience conducting supplier audits and driving supplier corrective actions.
Lean Six Sigma exposure or equivalent continuous improvement experience preferred.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent certification desirable.
