HYOSUNG HICO, Ltd. has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Memphis, TN. Duties Conduct supplier quality control audits on a regular basis to ensure vendors and their products remain in compliance with engineering, manufacturing, customer, and QA requirements. Implement and support supplier improvement activities. Assess quality trends, defect data, employ root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective action to improve overall effectiveness of the supplier QA program. Ensure that assembly and inspection/test data from suppliers is properly collected, reviewed, archived within the QA records and submitted to customers when necessary. Measure and track supplier performance data. Develop and maintain the receiving inspection process. Ensure quality inspectors are trained in the inspection process procedures and have the correct tools. Review customer specifications and ensure the organization is utilizing correct suppliers for products specified within customer specs. Analyze and interpret drawings, manuals or other information required to determine specifications, inspections procedures, testing requirements and certification methods. Confer with engineering, and other technical personnel to determine supplier part qualification requirements, resolve supplier related nonconformances, and determine if test data/reports are incomplete. Provide leadership, direction and technical support to suppliers in the QA program requirements. Travel periodically to suppliers to perform initial supplier qualifications, on-site assessments of suppliers' QMS, and perform source inspections of products. Support and make recommendations. Perform test equipment and tool inspections and calibration as required. Perform other duties as assigned in support of ongoing business activities which include but are not limited to: the 1SO-9001 program, daily and routine manufacturing and QC inspection issues, and lean manufacturing initiatives, internal audits, customer and supplier visits or field assessments, testing issues or general QA/QC procedural matters. Position requires a Bachelor's Degree or its foreign equivalent in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree. Plus 36 months experience in occupation involving quality assurance with 3 years of experience in each of the following:

• using inspection tools, instruments, and equipment - paint thickness gauge, paint adhesion tester, feeler gauge, micrometers, multimeter, borescope, vernier caliper, filler welding gauge, durometer.
• entering and retrieving data such as supplier performance evaluation, statistical data analysis, evaluation of electrical performance losses in Grain Oriented Electrical Steel, CPK analysis for flat copper wire conductor thickness, procurement data on commodity prices, market trends, and cost break analysis.
• working using ISO 9001 standard and quality requirements.
• performing internal and external audits, documenting, and analyzing NonConformances, designing inspection procedures, working on root cause analysis and corrective actions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 50% short term (72 hours including travel time) domestic and international travel to various unanticipated locations to supplier and customer sites.
