The Supplier Quality Assurance Technician will complete regular assessment activities for verification of adherence to raw material and packaging quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with onboarding process and ongoing assessment of suppliers
  • Review new approvals, maintain the supplier process/database in accordance to food safety and quality requirements
  • Assist in Food Safety Plan reviews where required
  • Carry out supplier verification activities in accordance with schedule to ensure supplier risk management strategies are effective
  • Conduct raw material assessment activities to ensure suppliers meet or exceed quality standards and expectations
  • Drive improvements through reporting of non-conformance issues from suppliers
  • Knowledge or self-motivation to understand raw material process and relevant legislation requirements
  • Familiarity with food laws, regulatory guidelines, and food hazards

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Degree in Chemistry, Food science, Microbiology, or other relevant scientific discipline preferred or previous experience in Supplier Quality Assurance/Quality Assurance in food manufacturing or food-based industry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical operations and concepts to solving quality process-related problems.
