Job Description

The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Officer supports the execution of supplier approval, material qualification, and Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) oversight activities for the Health & Wellness division across EMEA.

Reporting to the SQA Manager, this role is responsible for the operational management of supplier and material qualification processes, supplier and CMO audits, and the investigation and resolution of supplier- and CMO-related quality issues and complaints. The SQA Officer plays a key role in ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company quality standards, and risk management principles.

Your Responsibilities

Supplier Approval:

  • Support qualification and onboarding of new suppliers through:
  • Review of supplier questionnaires and documentation
  • Risk assessments
  • Evaluation of quality systems and compliance history
  • Participate in, or lead supplier audits (on-site or remote), as assigned.
  • Track supplier approval status and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Support establishment and maintenance of Quality Agreements.
  • Coordinate periodic re-evaluations and requalification activities.


CMO Qualification & Oversight:

  • Support CMO onboarding activities including documentation review and audit preparation.
  • Participate in audits of CMOs as assigned.


Assist in the review of:

  • Deviations
  • Investigations
  • CAPAs
  • Change controls
  • Track CMO performance metrics and maintain oversight documentation.
  • Support Quality Agreement lifecycle management.


Material Approval:

  • Support qualification of raw materials and packaging components.


Review and maintain:

  • Material specifications
  • Certificates of Analysis requirements
  • Technical and validation documentation
  • Participate in material risk assessments and change control reviews.
  • Monitor material performance trends and escalate quality concerns.
  • Maintain the Approved Material List (AML) and associated documentation.


Supplier & CMO Complaint Management:

  • Manage day-to-day handling of supplier- and CMO-related complaints and non-conformances.
  • Coordinate timely communication with suppliers and CMOs regarding quality issues.
  • Support and review root cause investigations.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure.
  • Trend complaint data and support performance reporting.
  • Escalate critical or recurring issues to the SQA Manager.


Auditing & Compliance:

  • Conduct or support risk-based supplier and CMO audits.
  • Prepare audit reports and track remediation actions.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and closure of audit findings.
  • Support inspection readiness activities related to supplier and CMO management.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with internal quality systems and regulatory requirements (e.g., EU GMP, ISO standards).


Ongoing Performance & Risk Management:

  • Maintain supplier and CMO performance scorecards.
  • Track KPIs related to quality, complaints, CAPA effectiveness, and audit outcomes.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvement actions.
  • Support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives with Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, CD&D, and Supply Chain.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related discipline.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, or GMP-regulated environments (pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical device, or Health & Wellness industries preferred).


Experience with:

  • Supplier qualification processes
  • Auditing (supplier or GMP audits)
  • Complaint handling and investigation
  • CAPA management
  • Quality systems documentation
  • Knowledge of EU GMP and applicable EMEA regulatory frameworks preferred.
  • Auditor training or certification is an advantage.
