We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell MV-75 Cheyenne aircraft for the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's X-76 a High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft.
This role is on site at Bell’s Fort Worth, TX headquarters and requires the ability to travel up to 50% as needed to support supplier quality activities.
Supplier Quality Assurance Team
This team is responsible for ensuring the Supply Chain meets Bell’s Supplier Quality requirements. This role provides leadership and coordination of supplier quality initiatives to support current and future departmental requirements, working under the direction of a Supplier Quality Manager or senior peer as needed.
This role also coordinates Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCAs) dealing with nonconforming product.
What you’ll be doing as a Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist:
- Collaborate with SMEs, SCMEs, customers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues related to supplier quality and safety, using engineering logic, facts, and data from suppliers and internal production facilities to drive improvement.
- Manage and execute supplier quality improvement projects with minimal oversight, compiling supporting analysis and clearly communicating findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Perform supplier oversight activities, including audits of classified and major suppliers, processors, and service providers; source inspections of product; and First Article Inspections (FAI) with validation and verification of engineering characteristics and requirements.
- Drive supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and provide data and input for CAB I and CAB II (Corrective Action Board) meetings.
- Cross-train and share expertise with team members while continuously developing your own knowledge through research, training, education, and collaboration with SMEs to deepen understanding of manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree required.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Aerospace or related field is preferred.
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Assurance experience with a strong technical background in inspection methods, process control, improvement techniques, metrology/calibration for audits and measurement system analysis, and familiarity with industry Supplier Quality Systems and records (including retention and backup requirements).
- Must have a solid level of knowledge and experience working with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Ability to travel up to 50% to support supplier quality activities, mostly domestic, but could have slight amount of international travel.
- Demonstrated disciplined project execution skills (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, closing) with deliverables reviewed for technical soundness; advanced root-cause problem-solving abilities and ability to apply engineering design/analysis to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.
- Solid business and supply chain knowledge, including current policies, practices, trends, and marketplace dynamics, with the ability to recommend future policies and improvements; intermediate knowledge in manufacturing technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook) and efficient user of enterprise systems of record (SAP, ENOVIA, CAMS).
- Experience with CAD and engineering tools such as CATIA V5/V6, MATLAB, ANSYS, SAP, and ENOVIA (preferred)
