The Supplier Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing supplier relationships with their assigned supplier portfolio to ensure quality, cost efficiency, strategy execution and risk mitigation.
The position acts as a liaison between the suppliers they manage and the Category Management, Business Unit and Global functions as required. Uses structured processes and scorecards to monitor performance, drive improvements, coordinate strategic development, and align supplier contributions with strategic goals.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Using a combination of the defined Supplier Plans provided by the Category Management team, structured processes and scorecards available as well as inputs and escalations received from various internal stakeholders, the Supplier Manager is accountable for
Supplier Strategy Planning & Execution
Development of the Supplier Plan in collaboration with the Category Management & BU teams ensuring direct support of the category strategy and business strategic projects
Monitor spend and performance in line with category segmentation and make recommendations for changes to Strategic & Tactical segmentation as necessary
Ensure compliance across all contractual agreements and supplier specific terms in alignment with Flowserve policies and procedures
Schedule and lead Quarterly Business Reviews / Strategic Business Reviews ensuring long-term strategy alignment
Coordinate strategic development activities, collaborating with Supplier Quality and Supplier Development where required
Review spend trends and make recommendations to the business for opportunities to consolidate/contract spend
Supplier Health Management
Manage supplier relationships, overall performance health, and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor and action supplier performance around competitiveness, delivery, quality (COPQ), and cost
Collaborate with Supplier Development and Supplier Quality to manage supplier risk, addressing and mitigating high risk criteria – including maintenance of risk elements in the SC Risk App
Coordinate with suppliers any escalations and risks as raised through the appropriate escalation channels
Ensure alignment between supplier load and capacity availability and business needs - propose alternative options in case of bottleneck.
Ensure supplier relationship management through continual engagement, key stakeholders’ identification, open communication channels, and updated supplier master data
Operational Support
Coordinate with site or business unit leadership on managing escalations, through the appropriate escalation channels
Provide issue resolution support by coordinating appropriate global resources
Business continuity and supplier responsiveness
Ensure internal alignment between multiple business units and a shared supplier – including governance of compliance to agreed terms from both the Site & Supplier perspective
Maintain a formal, structured governance through the escalated actions from MORs

The position shall report to the Reginal Supplier Management Leader
The position shall matrix report to the associated Category Director, and if applicable, Divisional Supply Chain Director

Requirements:
7+ years of experience in Supply Chain
Strong interpersonal, stakeholder collaboration & relationship management
Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Project Management
Knowledge of supply base within the category area of operation
Understanding of market dynamics
Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analysing and interpreting data
Certified Supply Chain Professional
Geographically mobile for development opportunities
Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
