About the role

The Supplier Assessment & Diagnostics professional plays a critical role in evaluating supplier operational performance, identifying capacity constraints, and executing recovery and improvement plans to ensure supplier readiness and on-time delivery. This role works directly with supplier manufacturing operations to diagnose production challenges, implement corrective actions, and strengthen supplier capabilities to support Carrier’s supply chain performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Supplier Assessment & Diagnostics professional, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conduct supplier capacity, capability, and readiness assessments including staffing, equipment, tooling, production flow, process stability, and quality systems.

  • Validate supplier production capacity by analyzing real throughput versus quoted capacity, identifying bottlenecks, and evaluating production allocation.

  • Execute structured root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and PFMEA, while supporting implementation of corrective actions and recovery plans.

  • Lead on-site operational improvement initiatives including Lean deployment, process optimization, and capacity expansion at supplier facilities.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supplier Performance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Strategic Sourcing teams to support supplier readiness for NPI launches, volume ramps, and technology changes.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are analytical, resilient, hands-on, and capable of driving operational improvements in complex manufacturing environments If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, Operations, or Supply Chain.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity analysis, process flow, and operational diagnostics

  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing process improvement initiatives using Lean tools

  • Advanced English communication skills with the ability to report and present to leadership and cross-functional teams

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience working directly on supplier shop floors and leading operational recovery initiatives

  • Experience supporting NPI readiness, production ramp-ups, or supplier capacity expansion projects

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, visual management, and standard work deployment
