A growing organization in the aerospace and defense industry is seeking a motivated Supplier Development Engineer to support supplier performance, quality, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-to-mid career engineer who is eager to develop expertise in supplier management, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
The position involves working closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on role with strong opportunities for professional growth and technical development.
Support supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met
Assist in resolving supplier technical and manufacturing issues
Identify and help qualify new suppliers for hard-to-source components
Analyze supplier processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in PFMEA, risk assessments, and corrective action efforts
Assist with supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality standards
Review incoming materials to verify quality and specifications
Maintain documentation for supplier performance, audits, and process changes
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and improve outcomes
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
1–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, or engineering (aerospace, defense, or automotive industries preferred)
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with tools such as PFMEA, process flow diagrams, and root cause analysis is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and with external suppliers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in a technical environment
