Position – Supplier Development Associate

Location: Remote, supporting a customer location in Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Development Associate to support supplier performance, quality, capacity, and recovery initiatives. This position works remotely while traveling extensively to supplier and customer locations to assess operations and support improvement efforts.

Approximately 90% travel is expected, with travel expenses reimbursed in accordance with company guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier assessments to evaluate capability, capacity, manufacturing processes, materials, and production constraints
  • Monitor and support supplier capacity and capability improvement plans
  • Develop supplier recovery plans to improve supplier performance and reduce quality corrective actions
  • Develop and support quality control processes that meet applicable industry and customer requirements
  • Work directly with suppliers to identify operational and manufacturing improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze supplier performance data and identify trends and areas requiring improvement
  • Prepare reports and communicate assessment findings, recovery progress, and supplier performance
  • Support supplier development activities through onsite assessments, follow up, and ongoing performance monitoring

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience performing supplier assessments, audits, or related quality activities
  • Aerospace, automotive, or similar manufacturing industry experience required
  • Experience with supplier operations and supplier development assessments preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and related quality standards required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Ability to assess manufacturing operations, materials, capacity, and production constraints
  • Experience developing corrective action and supplier recovery plans
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 90% of the time
  • United States citizenship required due to the nature of the work

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position is primarily remote but requires frequent travel to supplier and customer facilities. Work may take place in office, manufacturing, and production environments.

The employee must be able to travel regularly, move throughout supplier facilities, and perform onsite assessments as required.
