About the Position

Harris Health System is seeking a Supplemental Surgical Technologist II to join the team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital In this role, you will assist the surgical team during operative procedures while maintaining strict adherence to aseptic technique

You will ensure proper preparation of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, and demonstrate current knowledge of procedures, sutures, and surgical tools. This position requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Certification
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT
    • Current CPR certification
  • Experience
    • Minimum 1 year of related surgical technologist experience preferred
  • Communication Skills
    • Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
    • Strong written communication (correspondence)
  • Technical Skills
    • Basic computer and/or key entry experience
  • Knowledge/Skills
    • Medical terminology
    • Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
    • Word processing skills
  • Work Schedule
    • Flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call
