About the Position

Harris Health is seeking a Supplemental Sterile Processing Technician II to join the team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

The Sterile Processing Technician II is a certified technician responsible for decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards and guidelines.

In this indirect patient care role, you will help ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly processed and available when needed. The position requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication when responding to requests from customers and healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Central Service Technology course or equivalent work experience with at least one year of experience in central sterile processing
  • Certification
  • Must hold one of the following certifications or obtain it within one year of hire:
  • CRCST
  • CSPDT
  • CBSPD
  • CRM
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Central Sterile Processing experience required
  • Communication Skills
  • Above-average verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Ability to produce legible and coherent written reports
