Community Medical Centers has been providing central California with the highest level of care available in the region. With 685 beds, we are home to the only comprehensive Burn and Level I Trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California! We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants.

Responsibilities

Assists the Manager in planning, organizing, and directing of Social Work services. This position supervises the social workers within the Case Management/Social Work Department and is responsible for the day-to-day patient care operations as well as team support. Responsible for conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration, and coaching/mentoring others. Directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, evaluations, patient flow, and assisting in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel, and supplies. Accountabilities 1. Ensures continuity of quality patient care by planning daily staff assignments in both the inpatient and the emergency department through evaluation of census, patient acuity, and staff competency.2. Facilitates effective communication between hospital staff, medical staff, and management.3. Provides support and leadership guidance to develop roles, organize, coordinate, and evaluate ongoing social services within the organization.4. Acts as a liaison for daily interdepartmental staffing and patent flow/work issues including evaluating outcomes, providing feedback, and developing improvement strategies.5. Assists Manager and Director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of department goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and standards of care which contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives.6. Oversees the Mental Health/5150 assessment and transfer process in both the inpatient and emergency departments.7. Provides Direct Services and oversight to CRMC ambulatory clinics for reimbursement as needed.8. Assess staff development needs and provides opportunities for the ongoing education and professional development of staff members.9. Provides Clinical Supervision to all social workers registered as ASW pursuing their LCSW.10. Attends education seminars as staffing allows and reports education gained to all staff and leadership.11. Collaborates with university departments of social work regarding student internship opportunities.12. Administers the HR processes for employees: participates in the hiring and interviewing process; completes time and attendance; completes the performance evaluation process to ensure consistent evaluations within scheduled time frames; performs disciplinary processes in service area and advises the Manager/Director of all final written warnings and terminations.13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) required Experience• 3 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or healthcare setting required• 1 year of experience in a supervisory role preferred Licenses and Certifications• LCSW - State of California Licensed Clinical Social Worker required• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• FCDBH-5150 - Fresno County 5150 Cert required within 6 months of hire or transfer into position• CCSP - State of California Children's Services Paneling required within 6 months of hire or transfer into position
