Supervisor-Social WorkPlans, organizes, and supervises social work staff in an assigned area to provide social work services that enhance, protect, or restore individuals’ capacity for social functioning, whether impaired by physical, environmental, or emotional factors. Ensures continuity and effectiveness of services in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, as well as federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
Education and Experience Required:
Master's Degree or higher in Social Work (MSW) and three (3) years of experience in social work.
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:
Licensed Master Social Worker from the MS State Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; psychosocial methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and effective disorders. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions and for counseling and guidance. Knowledge of available community resources. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to gather, record, and analyze data. Ability to assist individuals in recognizing and solving problems. Ability to understand, interpret, and apply regulations and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees.
