We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years, with mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.

What You Will Do

  • Promote efficient operations of all utility equipment in a manner that maintains equipment in a safe reliable manner.
  • Directly manage the daily activities and professional development of non-exempt maintenance staff in a manner that efficiently and consistently meets customer and management expectations. Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
  • Identify issues, troubleshoot, and resolves the full range of daily maintenance duties and make recommendations on system improvements. May be required to perform the difficult or complex activities to train and disseminate knowledge to subordinate employees.
  • Identify, collect, and record data required to measure performance and establish goals for the reliability of the utility services provided. Develop and oversee maintenance programs that support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement required to meet management’s expectations.
  • Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies problem areas, and may direct remedial actions.
  • Identifies, communicates with planner, and maintains an inventory of parts and materials enabling timely and efficient response to maintenance issue and employee needs.
  • Maintain time, materials and equipment use reports.
  • Coordinate and participate in critical on-call scheduling of maintenance staff supporting a 24/7 utility operation with significant implications of failing to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the timely and proper completion of documentation and administrative controls are performed to ensure long-term sustainability of system assets, and maintenance activities. Including support for the development of maintenance budgets and deadlines.
  • Serve as delegate when senior leadership is off-site.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • High School Diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical utility related discipline, and two (2) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience using SAP for equipment maintenance and parts identification.
  • Experience with Power Distribution and Substation maintenance and PM Schedules
  • Experience with Water and Wastewater Distribution maintenance and PM Schedules
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; adept resolving day-to-day questions/problems as well as synthesizing many data inputs to develop insights and enhance decision making.
  • Adept at learning new systems, computer applications, and complex process
  • Ability to support in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Water/Wastewater Experience
  • Foreman/Crew Lead Experience
  • Industrial work experience.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $90,000 - $124,500 This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. What We Require
