Location: Cape Town

Main Purpose of the role

  • Ensuring that all operational procedures are in place and operates smoothly and effectively. Support administration functions as required to meet client requirements. To manage and measure performance, manage all subordinates to ensure high morale and productivity.

Computer Literacy

  • Literate and capable of working on Full MS office Suite packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Experienced in working on Blujay an Dispatcher

Job Related requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the logistics or courier environment.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Valid unendorsed code 8 Drivers License or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Supervising staff.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Ability to problem solve quickly, effectively but smart
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Essential to be able to work in a high pressurized environment
  • Be able to work under pressure and solve problems
  • Must have strong administration skills
  • The ability to liaise with clients on all levels
  • Disposition to be accurate and pay attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage a diverse team

Electives

  • Innovative thinker.
  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives / methodologies (Such as DSVSix Sigma, Lean, TQM).
  • Good knowledge of Dispatcher Online and connect.
  • Previous business and or operational supervisory experience.
  • IR Knowledge

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee overall site operations
  • Supervise Drivers and ther services levels
  • Ensure Compliance are met
  • Capture Freight on BluJay and Client Zone
  • Monitor that drivers assigned to routes follow there assigned routes.
  • Support efficient vehicle loading and utilization.
  • Report any stock left behind and ensure its corrected.
  • Follow up on collections and deliveries
  • Query management
  • Exception Reporting
  • Liaise with clients on queries, deviations and exeptions (i.e. internal and external)
  • MonthlyWeeklyDaily Reports as required.
  • Planning of daily operational staff where required
  • Daily reports to be completed and sent to assigned client staff
  • Basic BLNE Process Understanding
  • SLA monitoring
  • Management of Sites and resources
  • Verification and submission of Asset registers
  • Time Sheets
  • Planning of Leave / Yearly and daily
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs
  • Staff training
  • Drive operational objectives
