The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual to join our Capital and Projects as Supervisor, Senior - Community Projects Tax Credit Scheme.
About the role
The role is responsible for managing and delivering community projects across designated areas, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed cost, quality, and schedule. Reporting to the Superintendent – Community Projects, the position focuses on driving project delivery excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards.
In this role, you will:
Deliver building, civil and road construction projects and community projects within approved cost, quality, and schedule
Plan, coordinate, and manage project activities across remote and dispersed locations
Monitor project progress and provide accurate reporting on performance, risks, and outcomes
Manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial accountability
Administer and manage contracts, ensuring contractor compliance and performance
Ensure all projects comply with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and efficiency
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Build and maintain effective relationships with community stakeholders and clients
Lead and support teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution
Manage building, civil and road construction projects in community projects in the communities
Applying systems to deliver projects to agreed cost, quality, quantity and schedule
Monitoring building projects, systems and business processes as well as identify and prioritize improvement opportunities to formulate alternatives and improvements to systems and methods
Ability to coordinate and manage projects to achieve completion to agreed quality, budget and schedule
Ensure that building, civil and road construction and community projects comply with NPL policy for sustainability, government requirements and guidelines
Ability to manage projects spread over a large and remote area
Ensure development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team
Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner
Being responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team
Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures
About You
Bachelor’s degree in civil, or Structural Engineering or a related field (preferred)
Current PNG Driving License Class 6
Prior experience in Community Projects will be highly regarded
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing construction projects preferably in a mining setting
Several years’ experience in project management of building, civil and road construction projects
Experience in Contract Administration and Management
Experience in design, cost estimating, scheduling, reporting and budgeting
Demonstrated customer-oriented approach by managing monitoring and reporting service delivery
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders
Proficient in project management software and tools, with the ability to use technology to enhance project planning and execution
Thorough understanding of construction industry regulations, codes, and safety guidelines
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate and address project-related challenges
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
