Job Objective:

Leads security operations and acts as the primary contact when management is absent; bridges the gap between Security Guards and leadership. Key duties include patrolling to deter crime, responding to incidents, securing scenes, and conducting initial investigations. Ensures accurate incident reporting and escalates emergencies immediately.

Education:

Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree

Licensure/Certification:

Required: California Driver License with clean driving record and California Guard Card; must be at least 21 years of age

Experience:

Required: Two (2) years of Security Guard experience

Preferred: Healthcare Security Guard or law enforcement/military service experience

Reports To: Manager-Security and Emergency Management

Supervises: Security Guards

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations, Ability to climb stairs, ramps or ladders occasionally during shift; run as needed, Ability to constantly use of both hands, arms and fingers in reaching/handling/grasping while using radio, phone, notepad, writing reports and other administrative tasks; constant use of eyes (correctible vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with people and view security monitors, Ability to delegate tasks effectively, optimize team productivity and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, Ability to occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties, including lifting or carrying up to 80 lbs., Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance, Ability to work independently and as a team member, Ability to work in personal protective equipment (gloves, masks and gowns) while assisting medical staff, Written and verbal communication skills

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Performs security service duties through professional and positive interaction with patients, staff and visitors.
3. Responds to a variety of calls; provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations.
4. Investigates, reports and documents (both electronically and written) all security related incidents, safety hazards and criminal activities.
5. Patrols designated areas to ensure the protection of the patients, staff and visitors, as well as the property of Eisenhower Medical Center.
6. Patrols all parking lots on campus continually when on vehicle patrol, checking the grounds for any unsafe situation, parking violations and anyone needing assistance.
7. Supervises all assigned staff to include hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and coaching; escalates employee performance concerns to leadership and provides documentation for counseling and performance improvement plans (PIPs) as necessary.
8. Assists leadership with reviewing and updating processes to ensure the security operation is up to the expected standard.
9. Deploys Security Guards to their assignments and continually rotates assignments to avoid Security Guard from becoming complaisant.
10. Maintains schedule to ensure adequate staff are schedules based on day-to-day needs.
11. Conducts uniform inspections.
12. Periodically conducts post inspections throughout shifts.
13. Accountable to the department's chain of command for initiative, judgment and general competence exhibited in the performance of assignments, calls for service and day to day general duties.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
