What we are looking for:
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills;

Excellent planning and organizational skills;
Proven ability to take initiative, lead and work effectively as part of a team;
Significant experience in:
Public and institutional practices in the field of culture in relation to the issues and history of Indigenous Peoples;
Responding to repatriation requests, land claims and treaty processes;
Preparation and analysis of files concerning material culture (museum collection – an asset);
Coordination of treaty implementation related to material culture of Indigenous origin (for a museum institution – an asset);
Negotiation of complex agreements with third parties;
Planning and implementation of complex and long-term projects;
Team supervision.
Knowledge of:
The Museum's mandate;
Material culture of Indigenous origin;
The history of repatriation, land claims, treaty negotiations, and their impact on Canadian museums;
Ownership issues, including intellectual property, related to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Indigenous peoples in Canada;
Canadian law and international laws, protocols and other legal documents relevant to Indigenous heritage.
Education: in the fields of anthropology, Indigenous Studies, Canadian Studies, or a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Compensation: E7P - $89,148 to $104,984 (under review)
Status: Permanent Full-Time (#10130)
Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability
Location: 100 Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
