JOB SUMMARY

Supervisor Radiology Support. Performs/capable of performing all clerical duties. Assists the Manager/Director of Radiology in assignments related to budget, record keeping and statistics. Maintains the charge master and CPT codes. Responsible for all charge corrections. Maintains office and file room supplies.

REPORTS TO:

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Type weekly call schedules, and distribute to designated areas by close of day each Monday.
• Pick up, deliver, and distribute mail as needed.
• Order all office supplies for Diagnostic Radiology as needed or requested by technical and/or

clerical staff by 10:00 a.m. Wednesday on a weekly basis.

• Order all office supplies for MOP Radiology as needed or requested by technical and/or clerical

staff by 10:00 a.m. Wednesday on a weekly basis.

• Report all repairs pertaining to office equipment to appropriate vendor/maintenance as soon as

notified by other personnel

• Report repairs to general maintenance (light, toilets, cooling/heating) as soon as notified by

other personnel or visitors.

• Deposit all checks received for silver recovery and x-ray copies in a timely manner.
• Supervise and train all reception staff on Registration, PIM, and OCM.
• Counsel employees as needed, and interview candidates for employment when a position is

open.

• Update UMC downtime request forms within four days that the patient received services or as

soon as possible.

• Assist patient accounting with billing problems as they arise in a professional manner.
• Update and distribute employee telephone/address list bi-annually
• Help receptionists and staff with Pre-certification numbers.
• Maintain HMO paperwork. Be familiar with referral authorization numbers. Stay current in the

hospital wide changes made concerning HMO registration.

• Interact with the physician as needed in customer service. Solve problems as they arise in a

professional manner.

• Supervise the Radiology Courier, assuring that reports are sent out in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
• Attend all departmental staff meetings.

REQUIRED LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS:

None

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Two years general office background, medical background preferred. Must be familiar with assorted office equipment. Computer knowledge of various programs is essential. Some typing skills required. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of Human Resource practices is helpful. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

Must be emotionally and physically fit. Work requires frequent sitting and standing and walking. Must possess near visual acuity. Work requires frequent typing and writing.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Stressful atmosphere at times with many emotional demands. This position is subject to inside environmental conditions. Occupational risk for blood born pathogens is minimal.
