We're looking for an experienced Supervisor, Quality Assurance Inspector.
The Supervisor, Quality Assurance Inspector supervises quality assurance inspection activities for the Hawthorne Army Depot to support compliant receipt, issue, storage, renovation, and demilitarization of ammunition and ammunition components. This job directs assigned quality personnel, supports ISO and quality program requirements, and ensures inspection work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with Company and government requirements.
Position may require security clearance, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives clearance, and favorable NCIC III vetting, consistent with contract and government requirements.
This position is located on site in Hawthorne, NV.
As the Supervisor, Quality Assurance Inspector, here's the work you'll do:
-Work with the Quality Assurance / ISO Manager to plan and develop quality assurance inspection policies, goals, objectives, and department priorities. Assist with work request review, job estimates, and budget control to support effective quality oversight.
-Plan and schedule approved inspection work for employees involved in quality assurance and technical inspection of receipt, issue, storage, renovation, or demilitarization of ammunition and ammunition components. Ensure inspection documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with required procedures.
-Provide administrative and technical guidance to assigned inspectors and other depot personnel. Develop and deliver authorized training for ammunition-related inspection activities to support safe, compliant, and consistent work execution.
-Authorize rejection of packaging, handling, storage, or products that do not meet acceptable standards. Recommend improvements to methods and procedures to maintain quality standards, support compliance, and improve operational efficiency.
-Serve as lead internal quality auditor and use professional discretion and sound judgment in quality assurance matters. Provide staffing input and recommendations related to hiring, termination, promotion, or other employee status changes.
-Support a safe, ethical, and compliant work environment by upholding Company values, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct, and required reporting expectations. Report known or potential safety and environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel or department.
-Quality assurance and inspection knowledge sufficient to support the Quality Assurance / ISO Manager and maintain certification processes for depot maintenance and supply services operations.
-Work planning and reporting capability sufficient to evaluate work requests, prepare job estimates, support budget controls, and prepare required quality assurance reports.
-Policy, procedure, and technical documentation capability sufficient to develop, maintain, and improve quality assurance methods, procedures, and inspection techniques.
-Technical communication capability sufficient to write inspection documentation, technical reports, audit findings, and related business communications in English.
-People leadership capability sufficient to schedule work, provide technical guidance, support employee development, and reinforce quality, safety, and compliance expectations.
-Computer and applicable software proficiency sufficient to prepare reports, maintain records, analyze inspection information, and complete required job functions accurately and timely.
-High School Diploma or equivalent and an Associate Degree in Industrial Management or a closely related field; equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
-3+ years of inspection, quality assurance, or related experience, including at least 1 year of supervisory, lead, or work-direction experience. Familiarity with munitions, calibration, and hazardous materials is required.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications required by the Company Master Training Plan. Maintaining required certifications is a condition of continued employment.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives clearance, and favorable NCIC III vetting as required.
-Must perform job duties safely and professionally, maintain high ethical standards, follow Company policies and procedures, and report safety or environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel or department.
In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $68,480 - $102,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
