  • This job is a member of the Quality Assurance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • Responsible for ensuring the workload and function of Quality Assurance Auditors remain consistent with established standards and objectives.

What you'll do

  • Supervises the effective implementation and use of new QA audit planning and/or management tools and technologies.
  • Supervises the daily workload planning and coordination functions of the Quality Assurance Audits.
  • Works with a team of Supervisors to maintain auditee forecasting Schedules and plans to meet AA auditing frequency policy.
  • Coordinates assignments of Auditors for the accomplishment of scheduled and unplanned activities.
  • Supports Auditors in the field during the performance of their audits.
  • Interacts with Auditees as needed to support Auditor finding closures in a timely manner.
  • Ensures audit and documents meet department goals for timely and accurate completion along with filing system processes.
  • Maintains the Vendor Supplier Management Request process for QA initial and final approvals.
  • Supports department Manager in the maintenance of AA’s Approved Vendors List.
  • Evaluates the training needs and curriculum development for Quality Assurance Auditors to ensure currency on department policies and practices, industry trends and regulatory requirements
  • Interacts with FAA as required for resolution of investigatory request.
  • Develop and maintain audit checklists to meet AA CAMP and CFR requirements.
  • Other special projects, but not limited to:
  • International Air Transport Association Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) airline master/deputy, Standardized International Aircraft Ground De-icing Program (SIAGDP) and De-icing/Anti-icing Vendor Audit (DEVA)
  • When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School Degree, GED or equivalent aircraft maintenance operational leadership experience
  • 2 years of experience creating and effectively implementing operational and tactical plans

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • Experience managing, supervising and/or directing union workgroups
  • 5 years experience in a position that reviewed and audited processes

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • A&P License
  • Airline and aircraft maintenance technical knowledge
  • Effective Conflict Resolution skills
  • Implement and manage organizational change
  • Identify and resolve problems and develop alternative solutions
  • Ability to fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA) as well as US Customs Security badges, as applicable
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of applicable FAA regulations, specifically FARs 21, 43, 45, 121 and 145 Ability to obtain necessary international travel documents (i.e. passports VISAs, etc.)
