The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising production employees engaged in major and minor manufacturing operations. This role ensures production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while maintaining quality standards and fostering employee development and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations related to battery grid and plate processing to meet production schedules, quality requirements, and cost objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality, reliability, and operational standards while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.

Employee Supervision and Development

  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to hourly production employees.
  • Develop, train, and motivate team members to maximize productivity, efficiency, teamwork, and engagement while reinforcing company values.
  • Address employee questions, assembly challenges, and procedural issues to maintain smooth operations.

Operational Excellence

  • Coordinate and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction, process improvement, safety, housekeeping, communication, and employee training programs.
  • Anticipate and resolve production issues such as equipment downtime, material shortages, staffing concerns, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Develop and implement solutions to minimize production interruptions and optimize labor utilization.

Quality and Materials Management

  • Ensure proper handling and disposition of rework and scrap materials through repair, reprocessing, or documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and support corrective and preventive action initiatives.

Financial and Compliance Responsibilities

  • Support the accurate reporting of company financial information.
  • Report any known inaccuracies or concerns regarding financial reporting to designated leadership, including the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, or Chairperson of the Audit Committee, in CoreNET. with accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate employee reports regarding financial reporting concerns through established reporting channels.
  • Promote a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, ensuring employees can raise concerns without fear of adverse consequences.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises production employees within the assigned department.
  • Responsible for employee performance management, training, coaching, and development.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in both a manufacturing and office environment.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times throughout the workday.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing plant conditions, including noise and production equipment.
