We have an opportunity for a Supervisor - Production to join our team. In this role, you will provide leadership and direct supervision to the production crew, ensuring quality standards are maintained and productivity targets are achieved. You will monitor performance metrics such as efficiency, reliability, safety, and cost control while ensuring compliance with SQF, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), and Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm
Location: Manassas, VA
100% Onsite

The Role

  • Oversee and direct the planning and execution of daily production activities.

  • Ensure proper implementation of any changes in processes and procedures.

  • Manage operations to improve performance through continuous improvement and problem analysis to reduce downtime and material losses.

  • Analyze and complete daily production reports, gap analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Utilize data for accurate interpretation and reporting of performance, quality, and safety metrics.

  • Oversee sanitation processes for equipment and facility.

  • Schedule, train, and mentor crew to achieve maximum efficiency.

  • Ensure adequate staffing, provide direction, and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Direct employees in proper safety procedures and eliminate avoidable accidents.

  • Facilitate project work and ensure successful implementation within set parameters.

  • Serve as a training resource for operations crew on skills, safety, and plant processes.

  • Support and meet company Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSM).

  • Track, report, and post efficiency and reliability performance of each machine.

  • Comply with SQF, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), and Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards.

  • Participate in all required training to perform job responsibilities successfully.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED).

  • 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing.

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow through to achieve results and meet deadlines.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation.

  • Ability to facilitate change and foster innovation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and develop effective solutions.

  • Knowledge of machinery operations and equipment.

  • Advanced PC skills and knowledge of company-specific software packages.

  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required, along with occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and tasting or smelling.

Preferred Skills & Background

  • Technical Certificate or higher preferred.

  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak clear English; bilingual capabilities in Spanish and English are preferred.
