The Supervisor, Product Management provides leadership, direction, and oversight for Product Owners and Business Analysts responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering technology solutions that align with organizational needs. This role ensures the effective translation of business requirements into product capabilities, facilitates collaboration among users, developers, and cross‑functional teams, and drives successful execution of product and project deliverables. The Supervisor establishes standards for product documentation and backlog management, removes delivery barriers, and proactively evaluates processes to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and support strategic business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead and oversee the work of Product Owners and Business Analysts in conducting needs assessments, gathering requirements, refining user stories, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technology solutions.
  • Supervise and guide the use of structured documentation methods, agile backlog practices, and diagramming techniques to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across all product artifacts.
  • Direct collaboration with business users to understand operational needs and ensure product features, enhancements, and technology solutions effectively support improved business processes.
  • Partner with engineering, UX/design, operations, analytics, and other stakeholders to define priorities, resolve impediments, and ensure smooth product delivery across teams.
  • Manage and monitor agile and project management tools to document, track, and report progress, risks, dependencies, and overall product outcomes; provide timely updates to leadership.
  • Contribute to the organization’s strategic technology vision by helping shape multi‑quarter product roadmaps and facilitating cross‑functional alignment.
  • Establish and enforce departmental standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes for product management and business analysis activities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Coordinate workload distribution and prioritize team assignments to ensure timely and effective completion of projects, product releases, and initiatives.
  • Assist in hiring decisions, onboarding, and training of new team members to support department growth and capability.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues and remove organizational or technical obstacles affecting product or project delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement in backlog management, product discovery, documentation quality, and delivery processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis to support departmental or organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, project management, or comparable technology leadership roles required.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring product-focused or cross-functional teams preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent technology projects preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, including backlog management and refinement practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and support development of business cases.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to assess root causes and propose effective solutions.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with business partners, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable agile work management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift, push, or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight occasionally
  • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing/sitting/walking
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and see
