Position Overview

The Prepress & Digital Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Prepress and Digital departments to ensure quality work, efficient processes, and on-time production. This role leads department staff, manages workflows and equipment, and works closely with other departments to meet production schedules and company objectives.

Pay Range: $92,168-$98,000 per year

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Prepress and Digital departments.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop department employees, including training, performance management, performance reviews, corrective action, and participation in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Assign and prioritize work to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Manage offset and digital game development, artwork, plates, prints, and related materials.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Train employees on department workflows, equipment, and best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Production, Sales, Graphic Designers, Marketing, Customer Service, and Leadership to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
  • Manage workflow software and hardware used within the department.
  • Maintain department supply inventory and order materials as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with service providers when necessary.
  • Assist Marketing with the production of promotional and marketing materials.
  • Troubleshoot workflow, production, and equipment issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Foster a positive, productive, and accountable team environment.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • Ability to move between prepress and digital areas regularly.
  • Occasional bending and reaching.
  • Ability to visually inspect print quality and color accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of prepress, digital printing, graphic arts, or related experience required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of prepress, digital printing, graphic arts, and production workflows.
  • Proficiency with PC and Apple computer systems and related software applications.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
