Supervises all aspects of hygiene and safety within the perishables department. Manages stocks in order to maximise gross margins and profits. Ensures that operating standards are maintained

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained (floor and back-up)
Ensure that security procedures are adhered to
Ensure that packing, stacking and storage standards are adhered to
Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/expired stock is removed
Check temperatures and monitor/maintain the cold chain
Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages
Complete all relevant administration/documentation
Identify out of stocks/over stocks and communicate problems to manager
Ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with rules and regulations
Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers
