Anticipated vacancies currently exist for Supervisors on Assignment within the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Supervisors on Assignments are temporary positions subject to renewal from the requesting district, with the exact length of assignment to be determined. Extensions are possible, but are not guaranteed. Positions will be located within Chester County & surrounding counties.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Supervisor will provide leadership with the contracting LEA/district in the area of special education supervisory services. The Supervisor will provide leadership in the areas of special education staffing and programming. The position requires extensive liaison with varied education-based agencies at the state and local level.

This position is designed to build competency in the area of the special education supervisory responsibilities. The position is primarily designed to be contracted out to requesting districts, charters and other educational agencies and requires the Supervisor to be flexible in meeting contracting LEAs/Districts major areas of need.



Qualifications:

  • Master's degree strongly preferred
  • PA Supervisor of Special Education or Principal certification, or current enrollment in a program to obtain Supervisor of Special Education or Principal certification required
  • Willingness to become emergency certified as Supervisor if Supervisory certification is not yet obtained required
  • PA Special Education Teacher Certification PK-12 required
  • Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines regarding special education.
  • Technical experience required includes federal and state special education law, staff development, supervision and leadership, state and federal budget development and management, curriculum and assessment, and interagency collaboration.
  • Previous experience working as a supervisor preferred

Salary Range
2026-2027: Administrator, Level F: $122,635 - $153,294/yr.
* Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.

About Chester County Intermediate Unit

Created in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency that exists to provide quality, cost-effective services to the community and its residents. The Chester County Intermediate Unit administers instructional, enrichment and administrative programs and services to Chester County’s 12 public school districts, and to over 45 private and parochial schools in the county. These programs include instructional, remedial and enrichment services for regular and special education students and career and technical education programs for secondary and post-secondary students. The CCIU provides direct instruction to over 5,000 students a year and support services to an additional 30,000 students a year.

In addition, the IU supports teachers, school administrators, school directors and school districts through a multitude of services, including, but not limited to: business and administrative services, communications services, technology services and human resources. The diversity of CCIU programs enables IU staff to interact with school district personnel at all levels and to maintain a cohesive educational network throughout Chester County.
