The Facilities Supervisor oversees a team of maintenance technicians and trade specialists within Holy Cross Health's Engineering & Facilities department. This position is responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing staff performance, supporting TJC/CMS survey readiness, and maintaining reliable operations across assigned building systems. The Supervisor reports to the Engineering Operations Manager and serves as a key operational leader for Environment of Care compliance.
Engineering Supervisor
Weekends: 9am-5pm
Monday-Wednesday: 2pm-10pm
Position Purpose The Facilities Supervisor oversees a team of maintenance technicians and trade specialists within Holy Cross Health's Engineering & Facilities department. This position is responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing staff performance, supporting TJC/CMS survey readiness, and maintaining reliable operations across assigned building systems. The Supervisor reports to the Engineering Operations Manager and serves as a key operational leader for Environment of Care compliance.
What you will do:
Staff Supervision & Development
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate performance of assigned maintenance technicians across all shifts.
- Administer corrective action, conduct performance reviews, and support career development planning.
- Manage the rotating on-call and weekend coverage schedules; coordinate PTO and backfill coverage.
Operations & Maintenance Oversight
- Oversee PM and corrective maintenance programs; ensure CMMS work order compliance and documentation.
- Conduct daily Environment of Care rounds and manage findings resolution within required timeframes.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns and utility outages with clinical and operational stakeholders.
Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance
- Support TJC Physical Environment chapter compliance including EC/LS/UT activities.
- Maintain compliance documentation, inspection records, and survey binder content for assigned areas.
- Participate in Life Safety, Utility Management, and Environment of Care committee activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate or technical degree in Facilities Management or related field preferred
Experience: 5+ years facilities or building trades experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role; healthcare preferred
Licenses/Certifications: OSHA 30 preferred; trade license preferred; CHFM or CFM pursuit encouraged
Technology/Tools: Brightly Worxhub CMMS, Microsoft Teams/Shifts, Fluix, BAS interface, MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- CHFM (ASHE) or CFM (IFMA) credential or in active pursuit.
- Healthcare facility experience with TJC/CMS survey preparation.
- Procore or project management software experience.
- Multi-trade background (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regular movement throughout the hospital campus including clinical and mechanical areas.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs; occasional ladder work and entry into confined spaces.
- Must comply with infection control, PPE, and OSHA requirements.
- On-call availability and ability to respond to facility emergencies.
