Summary:
Flywheel Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Revenue Accounting Supervisor to lead a team responsible for accurate revenue recognition and reporting across our Fayetteville, Rockies, and MidCon basins.
This role oversees day-to-day revenue accounting activities, ensures timely and accurate posting of revenue entries, supports internal stakeholders, and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Revenue Accounting team.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with proven leadership experience and a solid understanding of oil & gas revenue accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop revenue accounting staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Manage daily workflows to ensure timely and accurate completion of revenue processes.
- Promote continuous improvement in team processes and individual performance.
Revenue Processing & Review
- Review and post monthly revenue entries prepared by the revenue accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support process accuracy and efficiency across multiple basins (Fayetteville, Rockies, MidCon).
Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for basin controllers, assisting with revenue related questions and clarifications.
- Partner with Legal and Owner Relations teams to provide revenue data, resolve issues, and support escalated inquiries.
- Collaborate cross functionally with Operations, Land, Finance, and other stakeholders as needed.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, review, and distribute monthly revenue reports to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in variance analysis and financial close activities.
- Support audits and ad hoc reporting requests.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in oil & gas revenue accounting; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of revenue accounting principles, systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Experience with accounting software and revenue systems commonly used in the upstream energy industry.
